Mental Health

Dr. Pearce is passionate about improving the psychological wellbeing of others, and has spent all his working adult life in roles aiming to fulfil this passion. Dr. Pearce began working with young people with autism and severe behaviours that challenge, making use of behavioural interventions and communication tools to meet the needs of these individuals.

Whilst studying for his undergraduate psychology degree, Dr. Pearce continued to work directly with a family, where three children had significant impairments related to an autism diagnosis.

Following this, Dr. Pearce worked for many years in the homeless sector, supporting individuals with mental and physical health needs, offending, substance use, relationship difficulties, and of course insecure housing. Dr. Pearce worked for some of the most innovative projects in London, including the groundbreaking Housing First initiative, as well as implementing a Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) approach throughout an organisational structure, which required him to travel to Chicago, USA, to network and exchange ideas with the relevant overseas services.

Dr. Pearce has engaged in extensive post-qualification training, and offers the following evidence-based forms of therapy:

  • Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). A useful approach for chronic or ongoing psychological or physical difficulties.

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD
